Natural pharynx disinfection

A basic measure to prevent pharyngitis is to avoid close contact with sick people, especially during epidemic periods. If contact with patients is necessary, precautionary measures must be used (gloves and disposable masks) and special attention must be paid to washing hands well with soap and water or with special antiseptic hand solutions. . In cases of young children, it is very common for the pharynx to be chronically colonized with streptococcus. In these cases, there is no need to eradicate the microbe with antibiotics, as it has been proven that there is no benefit.

We must be very careful with the hygiene of the oral cavity every day. Good tooth brushing and the additional use of antiseptic solutions prevent the growth of microorganisms in the oral cavity. Smoking destroys the normal protective barrier of the pharynx (epithelium), thereby increasing the ability of microbes to penetrate and cause inflammation. For this reason, especially the use of smoke of dubious origin, which can be even more irritating, should be avoided.

The correct and balanced diet, rich in vegetables and fruits containing vitamin C, as well as the daily consumption of sufficient amounts of water, combined with daily rest, good sleep and regular physical exercise, strengthen our defense system against infections.
